indo adventure - day 3: from Tokyo to Bali with love
What better place to start your morning than here?

Caught the 7:07 N’EX train back to Narita airport. These trains are so nice! And the bathrooms open like they might on the Millenium Falcon.

Arrived at the airport precisely on time, ascended about 800 escalators and found the airline ticketing desk to ask, for the fourth time, whether my bag was checked all the way through to Bali. And for the fourth time, it was confirmed. Only time will tell. I cleared security and customs, everything so streamlined and easy. Once in the terminal, as if she knew I was coming, there was Chanel. I performed my ritual of spritzing a bit of No. 5 on my wrist, dabbing my carotid on both sides and thinking of Grama.
Now I have a strict rule about eating fish in airports, but when in Tokyo…

Indonesia at last!

My bag made it! A very nice man named Rana was waiting to take me to the hotel, Uma Kalai in Ubud. The jet lag was setting in so I can’t say I made very good company. It was about 80 minutes to get to Uma Kalai and it was well worth it. I received a free upgrade to a suite - absolutely gorgeous.

And look at this incredible chair! Maybe this is what I’ll learn to make in woodcarving class tomorrow…

More photos to come tomorrow in the daylight!
